Appointment of new Senior Conciliation Officer
General Portfolio Press Releases
Assistant Treasurer Gordon Rich-Phillips has today welcomed the appointment of Mr Patrick Holt as the new Senior Conciliation Officer of the Accident Compensation Conciliation Service.
“The Accident Compensation Conciliation Service (ACCS) specialises in the resolution of disputes that arise within Victoria’s workplace accident compensation scheme by facilitating negotiations between workers, employers, WorkCover agents or self-insurers,” Mr Rich-Phillips said.
The Senior Conciliation Officer is the Chief Executive Officer of the ACCS.
“Mr Holt brings a wealth of experience and legal knowledge to this position, with over 20 years’ experience working in business, company, international banking and commercial law,” Mr Rich-Phillips said.
“He has previously managed a national alternative dispute resolution organisation in New Zealand and has acquired extensive financial and corporate management experience in both Victoria and the United States.”
Mr Holt has been admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor before Victoria’s Supreme Court.
“The ACCS plays an important role in bringing about durable resolutions to disputes in a fair and even handed manner. It also reduces the costs of dispute resolution by reducing the number of matters required to proceed to the Courts,” Mr Rich-Phillips said.
“I thank the current Senior Conciliation Officer, Ms Susan Cibau, for the service that she has provided over the past six years. She has presided during a challenging time for the ACCS.
