New Family and Community Centre for Cranbourne

Press Releases

A major capital grant of $1.6 million from the Victorian Coalition Government will help deliver a new Cranbourne West Family and Community Centre, Gordon Rich-Phillips, Member for South Eastern Metropolitan Region, said today.

“This new centre will provide a hub for the community that brings together high-quality education, care, health and support services for children and their families,” Mr Rich-Phillips said.

The project will deliver three kindergarten rooms, two maternal and child health consulting rooms, one community room, one meeting room and outdoor space for community use.

“This is a growing area with population expected to increase by 2.5 per cent per year. The Coalition Government is pleased to partner with the City of Casey to deliver the infrastructure required to meet this growth,” Mr Rich-Phillips added

The Coalition Government’s contribution of $1.6 million to the centre will be combined with $3.46 million in funding from the City of Casey to deliver the $5.06 million project.

Through this year’s State Budget, the Government invested an additional $32 million to meet the growing demand for quality early childhood development services.

City of Casey Mayor Geoff Ablett said the region was one of the fastest growing areas in Victoria.

“I would like to thank the Victorian Coalition Government for recognising the value of this project to the community of Cranbourne and the City of Casey,” Cr Ablett said.

“This project is an important investment in catering for the future growth of this area.”
