Code 1 ambulance response times worse for Greater Dandenong residents

Press Releases

Code 1 ambulance response time figures released by the Andrews Government show average response times for ambulances are now longer in the City of Greater Dandenong, compared to a year ago.

Ambulance response times are longer, compared to a year ago, in 31 of Victoria’s 79 local government areas.

Greater Dandenong is one of the 31 local government areas where Code 1 ambulance response times have got worse, meaning that residents in Dandenong, Keysborough and Mulgrave are waiting longer for ambulances.

Code 1 is the most urgent category for ambulance response and is used for our sickest patients.

Quotes attributable to Gordon Rich-Phillips, Member for South Eastern Metropolitan Region:

Daniel Andrews promised big improvements for our local ambulance service, but the truth is that ambulance response times in Greater Dandenong are getting worse under Labor.

Labor has wasted the past 18 months and failed to deliver any improved ambulance services for the south-eastern suburbs.

Quotes attributable to Margaret Fitzherbert, Shadow Parliamentary Secretary for Women's Health and Rural and Regional Health:

Daniel Andrews promised to make ambulances arrive much faster but in many places throughout Victoria the figures have actually got worse.

It’s disappointing that people in Greater Dandenong with urgent medical needs are waiting significantly longer for an ambulance than they were a year ago.
