Almost 7,000 Victorian jobs gone in just one month

Opposition Press Releases

Today’s figures from the Australian Bureau of Statistics show that in the last month alone, 6,761 Victorians lost their full time jobs.  This includes 1,117 young people, meaning there are now over 70,000 young Victorians out of work and looking for a job.

Unemployment in Victoria is now the third highest in the nation and higher than New South Wales, Western Australia, Tasmania.

Quotes attributable to Craig Ondarchie MP, Shadow Minister for Investment & Jobs:

“Today’s figures show that the only job Daniel Andrews is focussed on is his own. Protecting rorting MPs, special deals for mates and union paybacks seem more important to Daniel Andrews than saving Victorian jobs and keeping Victoria safe.”

“Workers in the Latrobe Valley, Gippsland and in regional Victoria righty feel ignored by the Andrews Labor Government.”
