The standard Daniel Andrews walks past is the standard he accepts

Opposition Press Releases

The UFU have today sought an injunction to stop the release of a report into sexism and bullying in the MFB and CFA.

The Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission (VEOHRC) is conducting a review into fire service workplaces. Peter Marshall has issued directives to members to not participate as the union believes it is not in members interests.

In the UFUs own words:

As members were advised in a previous Bulletin the MFB has announced to its staff that the Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission are to undertake a review into "the extent, nature and impact of sexual harassment and discrimination, including bullying on employees and volunteers of the CFA and MFB"…we consider it is not in your interests to participate – UFU Bulletin 132.

Peter Marshall has also been reportedly accused of bullying, with alleged threats to put an axe through the head of a former female Minister.

Quotes attributable to Shadow Minister for Women, Georgie Crozier:

“The standard Daniel Andrews walks past is the standard he accepts.  If Daniel Andrews doesn’t call out this cover up of sexism and bullying by the UFU then he stands condemned of walking past the standard all Victorians expect.”

Quotes attributable to Shadow Minister for Emergency Services, Brad Battin:

“It’s exactly a year to the day that Daniel Andrews said he had ‘ended’ the CFA dispute but 12 months later it’s still a mess and the UFU are still out of control trying to cover up serious allegations.”
