Hazelwood closure continues to send power prices soaring

Opposition Press Releases

AGL and EnergyAustralia are increasing their power prices by 20% across Australia because of Daniel Andrews’ reckless decision to force the early closure of Hazelwood.

Daniel Andrews promised Victorians would only pay “85 cents a week” more after he forced Hazelwood to close.

The reality is the average Victorian household is already paying $300 extra on their energy bill this year because of Labor’s rushed shutdown of Hazelwood, with more pain to come following AGL and EnergyAustralia’s announcements.

Victoria was once home to affordable and reliable power in Australia, but Labor has taken the State back to the dark ages with blackouts and unaffordable power prices.
