Liberal Nationals to build Miners Rest Primary School

Opposition Press Releases

Victorian school kids deserve to be educated in world class facilities.

In March, the Liberal Nationals committed to the full rebuild in Miners Rest Primary school, with funding to cover the cost of building a new school and the acquisition of the land.

Miners Rest Primary School has experienced a large amount of growth in recent years and with its ageing facilities and small space, is unable to keep up with this demand.

Member for Ripon, Louise Staley, has run a hard fought campaign to ensure that the children of Miners Rest and surrounding areas will have an entire new school, not just a consultation process for a new building.

The Liberal Party is committed to building a new school in Miners Rest that will give local students every chance they need to pursue a quality education.

Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Education, Tim Smith:

If Daniel Andrews and Labor won’t commit to an entire school rebuild for Miners Rest, then the Liberals will make sure it happens.

Member for Ripon, Louise Staley, has lobbied on behalf of her community and this rebuild will ensure that children in regional Victoria get the facilities they deserve.

Comments attributable to Member for Ripon, Louise Staley:

I have spoken and engaged with the local school community and I know that what they want is a new school on a greenfield site, and that that’s what the Liberals will deliver.
