Liberals to deliver shade sail for Caulfield South Primary School

Opposition Press Releases

An elected Matthew Guy led Liberal Nationals Government will commit $275,000 towards a shade sail at Caulfield South Primary School.

This project will see a new, over 400 square meter shade sail erected over key open space in the schools playground, ensuring students have an option to play outside every day of the year.

Currently, students at Caulfield South have indoor theory PE classes when the weather is either too hot or raining. This shade sail will provide protection from adverse weather and ensure students are always able to be active during their breaks and PE classes.

The Caulfield South Primary School community has been very active in calling for this shade sail, with School Council President Melanie Gordon stating “this shade sail is just what our school needs, it will ensure every student has the opportunity to play and have PE classes outdoors regardless of the weather.”

This commitment comes on the back of a successful campaign lead by local member for Caulfield, David Southwick MP, to secure emergency funding for an urgent upgrade of bathroom facilities at the school.

The Liberal Nationals are committed to improving the quality of our schools and ensuring every student has a safe place to play and be active.

Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Education, Tim Smith:

“David Southwick and I have listened to the ongoing concerns of the Caulfield South Primary School community and are proud to announce this commitment.

Caulfield parents are sick and tired of being forgotten by Daniel Andrews, only a Liberal Nationals Government will deliver for Caulfield South Primary School.”
