Pearcedale Panthers will roar thanks to Liberal funding commitment

Opposition Press Releases

Daniel Andrews has lost control of population growth and it’s hurting local sporting clubs.

That’s why an elected Liberal Nationals Government will provide the Pearcedale Football Netball Club with $300,000 towards an upgrade of the pavilion amenities to include female friendly change rooms and encourage female participation.

The City of Casey will contribute the remaining funds to complete this project and provide the Pearcedale Football Netball Club with improved facilities.

Victoria’s population is growing at around 150,000 people a year and the Andrews Labor Government has failed to properly plan for that growth.

As a result, local suburban and country sporting club facilities are increasingly run down and stretched.

With Victoria’s growing population, it is important that we keep investing in local sporting clubs, so that locals will have access to quality sporting facilities.

Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Sport, Danny O’Brien:

“Labor has been in office in Victoria for 15 of the last 19 years and it has badly neglected local sporting clubs.

“The City of Casey is one of the fastest growing cities in the nation; Pearcedale Football Netball Club is experiencing growth in membership and are finding it difficult to keep up with increased demand.

“Only a Liberal Nationals Government will provide our community sporting clubs with the facilities they need and deserve.”
