Liberal Nationals to upgrade Holy Trinity School, Sunbury

Opposition Press Releases

An elected Liberal Nationals Government will commit $6 million to complete stage two of construction of Holy Trinity School in Sunbury.

The school will open for the beginning of the 2019 school year, with an expected enrolment of 500 students from Sunbury and surrounding areas.

This announcement follows the Liberal Nationals commitment of $400 million for capital upgrades for non-government schools.

The Liberal Nationals support a strong public and private education system because we believe in giving parents choice and children the best opportunities.

A critically important part of that choice is for parents to have the option of low-fee, independent and Catholic schools.

With the current population squeeze limiting parental choices it’s never been more important to support all three sectors of our school system.

Our announcement of $6 million for Holy Trinity School is a vital investment in this growing region of Victoria.

Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Education, Tim Smith:

“Supporting low-fee non-government schools is crucial for the parents of the nearly 40% of Victorian kids who are educated at Catholic or Independent Schools.

Giving parents choice in education is a core value of the Liberal Nationals. That’s why we’ve announced a $400 million Catholic and Independent Schools Capital Fund, and will be happy to provide $6 million of that to construct Holy Trinity School in Sunbury.”
